Sclerotherapy treatment is one of the safest and most effective treatments available for treating spider veins (also referred to as telangiectasias). This relatively painless procedure involves the use of Asclera®, a unique injectable solution that yields excellent results. Injected directly into the vein in question using a very fine needle, Asclera causes the vein to collapse and blood to reroute through healthier veins. Within a few weeks, the collapsed vein is reabsorbed into the body and fades from view.

Are treatments painful?
There is minimal discomfort and numbing cream may be used. Many of our patients describe it as slight pressure. After the area is numb, the procedure is virtually painless.
What should I expect after my treatment?
To ensure optimal results we recommend the use of compression garments or bandages for several days after your treatment. The amount of time required varies based on the number and size of veins that are being treated.
What is the difference between Varicose veins and Spider Veins?
Spider veins are small and thin that often appear red, blue, or purple in color. These veins are very common around legs and thighs and can be a sign of poor circulation. Spider veins may cause discomfort, heaviness, or pain in some cases. Varicose veins are larger than spider veins. These veins may cause bulging and often appear as blue or flesh colored. Varicose veins primarily affect the legs and can cause throbbing, aching, and pain. Varicose veins are generally treated by a vein specialist or general surgeon.
When will I see results?
The full results of your treatment will be seen within 4 to 8 weeks. If veins are still visible you may be recommended to have another sclerotherapy treatment session. It is common for patients to require 2 to 3 sessions to completely clear unwanted veins using sclerotherapy.
