What are dermal fillers made of?
The dermal fillers that we use at Glowtology are hyaluronic acid based. Hyaluronic acid functions in our bodies to deliver nutrients in the skin as well as hydrate and keep the skin “plump” by binding water molecules and acts as a cushioning agent. Injecting the gel-like substance into targeted areas in the face adds volume under the skin.
How long will the results last?
How long your results last will be dependent on the type of filler used and the area(s) treated. In some people, results may be visible for a year, while some patients might want another treatment after six to nine months.
How do I know which injectable filler is right for me?
It will depend on which area(s) is being treated as well as your desired outcome. Depending on whether you want to diminish wrinkles, add volume, or create a lifting effect. Dr. Green will discuss your concerns prior to recommending the best filler for optimal results.
What is the recovery from dermal filler treatments?
Patients can usually resume most daily activities right away; however, bruising can occur so try not to book your appointment within ten days of an important event. It is recommended that patients avoid intense physical activity for the first two days to speed up recovery and minimize bruising and swelling. Temporary pain and redness can be addressed with topical icing.
