PRP/PRF Injections

PRP Platelet Rich Plasma / PRF Platelet Rich Fibrin otherwise known as “Liquid Gold” is a more natural, non-invasive way to restore your skin’s radiance. Both are derived from your own blood and are alternatives to synthetic products and procedures. It thickens your skin's layers that naturally lose cellular structure to create a natural, youthful appearance. These activated platelets contain growth factors that stimulate collagen production and tissue repair.

They can both be used for aesthetic procedures. Some common uses for aesthetics include injections for thinning hair and facial injections to help build collagen.

Questions?

Is there a difference in PRP and PRF?

PRP and PRF are both derived from your own blood, which is placed in a centrifuge to separate out the various components. Both PRF and PRP contain platelets and growth factors that stimulate the repair and renewal of your skin. However, PRF does not contain an anticoagulant and also contains Fibrin. PRP and PRF provides scaffolding that supports the blood cells, activates clotting, and promotes the release of growth factors. For these reasons, growth factors in PRP and PRF remain active for several days, allowing the skin to fully utilize all the healing properties of the rejuvenating serum.

What is the treatment process?

When you arrive for your treatment, blood is drawn from a vein and placed into a centrifuge so that the plasma can be separated from the red blood cells and other impurities. The plasma is then placed into a syringe so that it can be injected into the desired area. It can also be used in conjunction with other treatments such as microneedling and dermal fillers.

What results can I expect?

PRP/PRF facial injection treatments will not have the immediate results of a dermal filler treatment because the volume added by PRP/PRF injections is reabsorbed by your body within 2-3 days. Gradual tissue regeneration begins within days and continues for months after the treatment. Results typically last 1-2 years.

How does PRP/PRF Injections work for hair loss?

Either of these injection treatments are an excellent option for those who experience male or female pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia). It works to increase the blood flow and allows new cellular growth at the level of the hair follicles. This gives them a nourishing boost, which leads to the hair shafts becoming thicker, promoting hair density and growth. It only works on thinning hair and does not work on completely bald areas to generate new follicles.
